Strategic Labs: bespoke software and artificial intelligence for businesses

We write the software your company is missing, connect the software it already has, and build in artificial intelligence where it takes real work off people’s hands. We do the same for ourselves. Four products that we develop or distribute are already in use.

When the software you need doesn’t exist

Almost every company has a task that is done by hand because the right program does not exist. Website orders are retyped into the ERP. Quotes are rebuilt from the last similar one, dug out of old emails. An Excel spreadsheet serves as the stock system. An old program still works, but nobody dares to touch it.

While volumes are low, you can cope. Then come the copying errors, the checks done twice and the customers left waiting. Every week you pay for hours of work that nobody chose to do.

Bespoke software starts from the work as it is done today. We work out what to automate, what to leave to people and which systems the software needs to talk to.

What we build

LAB01 Business applications and dashboards The problem: the data sits in five Excel spreadsheets and nobody knows which one is right. We build one application for orders, jobs or case files, with the figures management needs on a single page.
LAB02 Portals, web apps and private areas The problem: customers and suppliers ask by email for documents they could download themselves. We build client areas, supplier portals and intranets. They open in the browser, on phones too. We build an installable app only when one is really needed.
LAB03 System integrations The problem: website orders are retyped by hand into the ERP. We connect e-commerce, ERP, CRM and accounting through APIs, the ‘doors’ through which two programs exchange data.
LAB04

AI assistants

The problem: the same questions arrive every day, from customers and colleagues. We build assistants that answer from approved documents and ERP data, and that identify themselves as AI. Company Brain
LAB05

Automation

The problem: attachments to open, data to retype, requests to route. Invoices and orders are read and turned into data, and requests are sent to the right person. A person confirms the actions that matter. AI agents and integrations
LAB06

WordPress and WooCommerce

The problem: the website attracts visits, but it is not connected to anything. We build bespoke WordPress plugins, WooCommerce shops connected to your stock system, and AI chat based on your website’s content. Autochatter

Some problems are the same in many companies. For these, we have built ready-made tools that we use ourselves. In all of them, the assistant always states that it is an AI assistant, and it works in the channels people already use.

Where artificial intelligence comes in

Artificial intelligence is useful when it takes away repetitive work: reading an attachment and retyping its data, finding the right procedure, answering the same question for the tenth time. Where a rule or a spreadsheet will do, it is not needed, and we tell you so before we start.

In our projects, AI works inside the software. It reads only authorised sources, says where its information comes from and leaves the final say on important actions to a person.

Company Brain, DIREKTA and Kristina Reply draw on the same company memory. See how they connect.

How we build software with you

From the problem to everyday use, in five steps. Each one ends with something you can see and discuss.

Graphic: a software project sheet with five stages, a prototype screen with review notes, and the tests before release

Understanding the problem

We meet the people who do the work every day. This step ends with a written proposal setting out what we will do, what we won’t, the timescales and the costs.

A prototype you can try

The main screens are tried out with the people who will use them, while changing them still costs little.

Development in stages

The software grows in working parts, each with its own testing and review.

Supported roll-out

We import the data, train the people and follow the first weeks closely, with a way to go back if needed.

Maintenance and security

Updates, fixes and new features come under a written agreement, working alongside the people who look after security and databases.

What you keep
You keep the software with its instructions, the code and documentation as set out in the proposal, and a list of the external services used and where the data is stored.
What does it cost, and how long does it take?
It depends on how much work it replaces and how many systems it connects. The first visible result is the prototype, and the proposal sets the milestones. The first conversation carries no commitment. If there is work to be done, you receive a written proposal for the initial assessment, usually one or two days of work with the people involved. After the assessment comes the proposal for the project, with phases, timing and costs.
And if it doesn’t work?
The prototype is there to find out early, before the larger part of the budget has been spent.

Where the data is kept

  • Products. DIREKTA and Kristina Reply run on servers in the European Union, with each client’s data kept separate and credentials encrypted. Autochatter runs inside the client’s own website. The AI models come from third-party providers, named in the service privacy notice provided on activation.

  • Bespoke software. Where the data is kept is decided during the project and put in writing, together with a list of the providers involved.

Privacy policy

What we don’t do

  • We don’t resell licences and we don’t pass off an off-the-shelf package as bespoke software.
  • We don’t add artificial intelligence where a rule or a spreadsheet will do.
  • We don’t build tools for mass messaging or for contacting people who have not asked to hear from you.
  • We don’t create hidden dependencies. Code, documentation and access are handed over as set out in the proposal.
  • We don’t promise savings that cannot be measured before we start.
You don’t notice the right software. You notice the work nobody does by hand any more.

Frequently asked questions

Do we keep the code of our bespoke software?
What we hand over, meaning the source code, the documentation and access to the services used, is written into the proposal before we start. Our working principle is that your company should be able to carry on with an in-house team or with another provider. Strategic Labs products are different. They are used under each product’s own terms, without any transfer of the code.
How much does bespoke software cost?
It depends on four things: how much work it replaces, how many systems it has to connect, how many users and different roles will use it, and what support you need after release. After the first conversation, you receive a written proposal with timescales, costs, and what is included and excluded. It often makes sense to start with a well-defined part, see it working and then extend the project.
How long does it take?
It depends on the size of the project. The first visible result is a prototype of the main screens, which you try out with the people who will use them. Then the software grows in stages, with deliveries on agreed dates. The schedule is in the proposal, together with how a stage that slips will be handled.
Do you work with our current IT provider?
Yes. Your current provider knows the company’s networks, computers and systems. We bring the software, the integrations and the artificial intelligence. Who does what, and who is responsible for what, is written down at the start of the project, so that no task is left half done.
Our ERP is old. Can it be connected?
Often, yes. If the ERP has an interface for talking to other programs, an API, we use that. Otherwise we read the data from the database in read-only mode, with a dedicated account, or from periodic exports. We choose the route after seeing the system, without changing its logic and without slowing it down.
Can we try the products?
You can try Kristina Reply straight away by messaging Kristina on WhatsApp. She is the assistant that presents the product. For DIREKTA, we arrange a presentation based on your company’s situation. For Autochatter and Strategic Remote, you request activation through the contact form, stating the website or the computers to be covered.
